Water damage in a data center or server room doesn't announce itself. By the time standing water is visible under a raised floor or around a cooling unit, critical equipment is already at risk. The AKCP Rope Water Sensor provides early detection across the areas that matter most - so you can respond before damage occurs.

The sensor uses capacitance measurement technology to detect moisture at any point along its sensing cable. The moment water contact is made, it triggers an alert - delivered via email, SNMP trap, or SMS - through a connected AKCP sensorProbe+ or securityProbe base unit. No additional power supply is required; the sensor draws power directly from the base unit.

Scalable coverage for any facility layout

Starting at 10 feet of sensing cable, the RWSXX extends in 10-foot increments up to a maximum of 200 feet (call to order). That range makes it practical for a single IT cabinet run and large raised-floor environments alike. Route it along cable trays, around cooling units, or across floor tiles where water is most likely to appear first.

Reliability you can count on in critical spaces

The RWSXX doesn't just alarm when wet - it reports a critical state if the sensing cable is cut or physically damaged. That means the sensor is monitoring its own integrity at all times, not just waiting for water. You won't be left with a false sense of security if something physically disrupts the cable path.

IP66-rated waterproof connectors protect the connection points from the same moisture the sensor is built to detect. The sensor operates between -20°C and 60°C, covering the controlled temperature ranges of data center environments as well as the utility spaces and mechanical rooms where cooling infrastructure typically lives.

Works with your existing AKCP monitoring setup

The Rope Water Sensor connects to any AKCP sensorProbe+ or securityProbe series base unit via standard RJ-45. If you're already running AKCP environmental monitoring for temperature, humidity, or airflow, adding water detection requires no additional software or controllers. The sensor appears in your existing AKCP dashboard alongside other environmental readings, giving you a single view of facility conditions.
