  • Convert RS232 serial data to CAN bus with the programmable PCAN-RS232 adapter. Use the default program supplied with the adapter or program your own software into the adapter to customize it to your protocol.

    The PCAN-RS232 converter has one CAN channel and one RS232 port. The data traffic between CAN and RS232 is controlled by a freely programmable microcontroller. Thus, devices without CAN connection (e.g. PLC systems) can be connected to a CAN bus via almost any RS232 protocol.

    The provided library and Yagarto toolchain can be used to produce your own firmware and then transfer it to the converter via CAN. This capability gives a whole range of options for manipulation, evaluation, filtering, and routing of the data traffic.

    The PCAN-RS232 converter is delivered with example firmware that routes from CAN to RS232 and vice versa. It allows you to configure the data transfer as well as the hardware with serial control commands. The corresponding source code is included.
