Easily bridge your Modbus RTU/ASCII interface to EtherNet/IP networks with the GRID45-EIP, a compact intelligent RJ45 connector with a Modbus master and EtherNet/IP adapter software built-in. GRID45-EIP firmware maps your product’s Modbus serial data (or proprietary serial data) so you don’t have to change any application code. The GRID45’s firmware can map data to and from your device for presentation on EtherNet/IP networks.

The GRID45-EIP module allows device manufacturers to easily add EtherNet/IP industrial protocol connectivity to their products or machines.  This module offers device manufacturers and OEMs the smallest embedded gateway solution   Any host processor with a serial interface can easily add EtherNet/IP protocols with a simple PCB redesign.

Note: EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is a specific application layer protocol used in advanced industrial automation environments and is not short-hand for Ethernet Internet Protocol. Grid Connect engineers are available to answer your EtherNet/IP questions.

Software:

The GRID45-EIP-Q is preloaded with EtherNet/IP firmware and requires no changes by the customer. It creates random serial messages and maps it to an EtherNet/IP CIP assembly.
